Gifs not playing in ipad Safari

Looks like there is a new gif player feature on the mobile site which works on my iPhone 5 but not on my iPad 2 :(

Same here. IPad Air, suddenly gifs not working. Gifs work fine from other sites.
ok on iPhone 6
