I know you can drag and drop several images at once, but is there a way to do that with a whole file of say 50+ images?

You cannot drag and drop folders, but you can highlight all 50+ images and drag and drop them at once.
If you have an account, you can upload multiple images from the Imgur backend.
From what I see, you can do the same without an account from the front page of the service.
Another way is to mail the images to upload@imgur.com. it works fine too.

I do have an account.
These images would have to be private, at least for a time. They would be under embargo at the time of upload and for a few weeks afterwards, so mailing is not really an option.
