Actually, I'd like to be able to open original images from albums. Zoom feature, in most cases, is not helping, and is a lot slower than old-fashioned opening of an original image in a new tab. However, I understand that it's somewhat standard to use this kind of zooming today, because every other side does that, and I can't really insist to remove that feature.

I'm asking you about a small change then: is it possible to open original image in a new tab if you click on it with the middle mouse button (it's a standard browser hotkey for opening a link in a new tab)? Leave the left mouse button click for zoomed pop-up, but please, allow us to open original images easily too. At the moment I have to open the context menu every time I want to open an original image in a new tab, which is, obviously, very slow and uncomfortable. The middle mouse button, instead of working as it shoukl, just brings up the pop-up.

Thanks in advance for any answer. Perhaps it's a technological problem, and it's impossible for browser to recognize that hotkey in that case? :(
