Navigation could be a little bit more intuitive

Marek Domanski il y a 13 ans mis à jour il y a 13 ans 1

A really visually appealing site. Navigation could be a bit of a problem for some though. If I go into an album the only way out is to click on the name of the album again instead of clicking "back to main page" or something more intuitive.

Going pro without credit card

Kenneth Reyniers il y a 13 ans mis à jour par Alan Schaaf (Founder) il y a 13 ans 2
Hello, I am very interested in going pro as this has become my favorite website for uploading images and so on... I went to buy a pro account, and I found myself on a paypal page. Huzzah! Until I noticed it requires a credit card... Now I really don't want to get a credit card just for this. Can't I just pay via Paypal using the money i transferred to my Paypal account?
Solution

We have plans for alternative payment methods such as Google Checkout and Amazon Payments, but they will still require a credit card. I think this is because since it's a recurring payment, PayPal/Google/Amazon want to be sure they can collect the money so they need a card on file.

Are changed/deleted account names recycled?

James Miller il y a 11 ans 0
If User A has Name 1 then either delete their account or change to name 2, can User B then change their own name to Name 1 or is Name 1 still unavailable like with Reddit names? A median possibility, are names (former and current) attached to an account until that account is deleted by the user, at which point the names are made available?

Don't let Mackeeper ads show up on imgur. that outfit's a scam.

When browsing the https:// version of your imgur, it tries to pull ads over an insecure connection. Chrome blocks such content and displays a warning making imgur look a tad unprofessional and robbing you of potential ad revenue. Secure your connections!
Solution

SSL throughout the whole site is not supported. It's only supported for the sign in page and the API.

HTML Image Option is Messed Up

robogena il y a 13 ans mis à jour par Alan Schaaf (Founder) il y a 13 ans 3
I love imgur, and I especially love the new quick-copy button for the "HTML Image" button. However, the html within is screwed up - there's a link tag surrounding the html now, which wasn't present in HTML Image before. Was this a planned change or a mistake? It's annoying to have to edit out the extra tags!

Sorry for the confusion. It's been brought back.

Why do my images get turned into thumbnails when posting them?

failbender il y a 14 ans mis à jour par Kangenwater Spray il y a 9 ans 12
I used to be able to post the url of the image into a site called "plurk," and it would show the entire image, but now it's just showing thumbnails instead. Extremely frustrating. At first I thought it was just stopping .gifs but I've found it to be the case with .jpegs and .pngs alike. I know it's not an issue with plurk, since it shares images just fine when given a url from other image hosting sites.
Solution

Determined that this is an issue with Plurk, and not Imgur.
