It does not delete the image. It hides it from your account.

I want this as a feature. Even if it is made available to pro users only. 

Create an account on Imgur. Once you upload an image, Imgur lets you add a title and description to the image. 

What I mean was that... You want text to be part of the image or you want to write something about image on the pages showcasing the images?

Ex: http://imgur.com/jvcqR this page has the image and some text description.

Yeap. It is very hard to access the original sized images in an embedded gallery.
